Sunday Worship

What to expect during Worship:

What we believe:

We believe in one God – the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. We believe that the Bible is God’s inspired, infallible Word (John 10:35, Mark 8:38, John 14:26, 2 Timothy 3:16-17) and is relevant to all people in every age.  You can read more about what we believe at www.faithgb.org/about. We are a member of the Lutheran Church–Missouri Synod. Click HERE for more on the belief statements of our church body.

About the Liturgy, our order of service:

The word “liturgy” (pronounced LI-tur-jee) comes from the Greek word “leitourgia,” which means “public service” or “divine service.” The liturgy is God’s service to us through Word and Sacrament. Why do we use it? Just as the word “liturgy” means “divine service,” God is the one serving us in our Lutheran worship. We are simply responding to Him with thanksgiving and praise. You can read more about parts of the Liturgy HERE.

We are family-friendly.

The presence of children is a gift to God’s family, and a reminder that our church is growing! Please welcome our children and give a smile of encouragement to their parents. The way we welcome children here directly affects the way they respond to the Church, to God, and to one another. You are helping the next generation feel at HOME here in the Faith Family!

Young families:

We’re glad you’re here! Please make use of the children’s activity bags hanging by the south door of the sanctuary. There is also a children’s bookshelf inside the church door for your children to use during the service. A “Quiet Room” with Sanctuary view and sound is available for young children via the Narthex.

Kids can find order of service sheets near the bulletins on Sunday mornings. They can follow along the service by looking for the icons at the bottoms of the screens! Plus, there are fun activities included on the back!

Encouraging children to whisper and listen for the name of Jesus and other words they recognize will help them learn to engage in worship. Point out the words in the bulletin or on the screen so they can follow along. Sing the hymns and songs, pray, and voice the responses. Children learn by copying you.

Coffee and treats:

Sunday morning fellowship coffee and treats are available between services in Heins Hall during the school year (Labor Day to Memorial Day).
